August Book of the Month: Should I Share my Ice Cream by Mo Willems

AUGUST 2017
Should I Share my Ice Cream? by Mo Willems
This Elephant & Piggie book doesn't disappoint. The book opens to the simple and crisp illustrations we know and love from Mo WiIllems' books. The text is a solid level 1 so it's a good book to grab when you have an early reader on your hands. Sharing is something children often struggle with so these familiar feelings will be a perfect opportunity so sneak in a discussion on sharing. Will Elephant decide to share his ice cream with Piggie before it melts?
activities that go with the book...

Pass the Ice Cream

This fun sharing game is perfect for large or small play groups and goes perfectly with the book.  Sunday Family came up with this game and we are excited to share it before it melts away!

Frozen Banana "Ice Cream"

August is the last hot summer month, so cool off with this frosty treat from The Two Bite Club. Frozen bananas get transformed into a healthy yummy ice cream.  I'd scream for that!

Puffy Paint Ice Cream Art

Crafty Morning is a blog that has tons of adorable art and puffy paint ideas.  This one is a mint chocolate chip ice cream dream but you can make it into your favorite flavor.  Transform regular paint into puffy-paint using two simple ingredients.  Step by step instructions can be found here.
Check out the BOOK OF THE MONTH from months past.
