Teachers Raise Money for new Play Equipment

The Toddler room FINALLY got their new outdoor play equipment! Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Maria Sanchez, Belen Avalos and Tracy Patton over $1,200 was raised! Special thanks to Maria Sanchez for running the Rock n' Roll half marathon in July to promote our efforts!

The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn (CCCB) is a not-for-profit and this agency relies on the extra efforts and donations from our community, staff, and families. This year, a special group of CCCB teachers joined forces and raised more than $1000 to help purchase developmentally appropriate outdoor playset for our toddler aged classroom at our Patricia Makris Child Development Center (PMCDC) site.

Tracy Patton, Maria Sanchez and Belen Avalos wanted more for their toddlers. They wanted a place at PMCDC where the children can safely play, jump, climb and enjoy physical fitness. These teachers set up a Go-Fund Me page and participated in the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Race on July 16-17 to help raise the money. We are grateful for what they have done and love to see our toddler enjoy their new playground.
