April's Book of the Month:

Rain Drop, Plop!
by Wendy Cheyette Lewison, Illustrated by Pam Paparone

It is April and we are all patiently waiting for Spring to officially start.  Over here in the Chicagoland area, weather has a bipolar temperament and decided to Thunder-snow a few days ago. That doesn't stop us from strapping on our rain boots and jumping into some fun Spring literacy.  So April's Book of the Month is an adorably illustrated book about a little girl counting her way through some rain. This is a wonderful picture book filled with counting, rhyming and at last...some sun!

There are so many rain themed activities that will keep those little minds working and creating.  We put together a nice little list for you (compliments of some really creative bloggers ideas) to help you through the storm:

Here are our five favorite picks:

1.) Let's Make Rain
2.) Shaving Cream Rain Clouds
3.) Puddle Jumping Alphabet Activity
4.) Colored Waterfalls
5.) Rain Drop Suncatcher

In the end, one of the best activities is just getting on your rain gear and jumping those puddles with your kids!  Ready, set, SPLASH!
